The original photograph in this image depicted a bleak and exposed landscape of a tree and bushes with no foliage. I wanted to emphasize the bleak nature of the image by layering other abstract backgrounds behind the image and by using blending and filter functions in Photoshop to create a transformed and surreal scene. There is a sense of foreboding. The result reminded me of Shakespeare's play, Macbeth and the desolate scene on the heath.
