Art is my therapy and serves as my personal salvation. Before my mother passed in June 2023, my art focused on pet sketches and serene nature paintings. The handing down of her sarees to my daughter became a pivotal moment for me, unearthing suppressed emotions tied to the complex roles of being an Indian woman, both in the past and present.

These vibrant sarees encapsulate treasured memories from both pivotal and seemingly mundane chapters of my mother's journey. Within their prints, colours, and stories lies a well of creative fuel for my acrylic artwork. As I navigate the path of healing, I am exploring other textiles, as well as depictions of still life, landscapes, and seascapes, all woven together by the threads of time that intertwine with the fabric of our existence.
