"From as far back as I can remember I have always enjoyed creating art. It has been a passion that has always found a way of being a part of my life.
Over the years I have stopped and started for a number of reasons, mostly family obligations. But as my family grew older the desire to create began to edge back into my life. I had however convinced myself that I couldn’t paint. I had always been able to draw and work in black and white but colour had eluded me. Lucky for me I have an amazingly supportive family, particularly my sister who convinced me, one girl’s weekend away that I could paint. So with her encouragement I went out and purchased my first acrylic paints. In 2013 I started testing myself with colour and paint. It was an amazing feeling of self-discovery and accomplishment when I finished my first painting and I have never looked back.
I was very fortunate to hook up with a local Artists’ Association where I was able to learn from some amazingly talented and accomplished artists. My most influential teacher has taught me many technical skills but most importantly the importance of developing my own style. This process started with some fragmenting of edges and has become a “pixelated” style of painting. This style has come very naturally to me and has begun
showing up in many of my new works. I absolutely love the way the pixels interact with each other creating the shapes and colours on the canvas. I have been working on this style for the past year or so now and am finally finding the courage to share my art with you."
