"I am a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, and a mixed media artist, residing in Niagara. My exotic, vibrant paintings reflect my passion for women and are influenced and inspired by the mythology of Goddess, religious iconography and ethnic costume and culture. My unique style is a combination of acrylic paints, oil pastels, metallic and collage, using handmade papers and fabrics.
Creating each piece is a lengthy process. It involves the layering of pain, pastel and collage. I use Golden Softgel to collage papers and fabrics and I use Golden metallic and acrylic paints. I also use various brands of oil pastels. To add variety and texture, I may use old postage stamps.
Each step requires drying time before the next step can proceed. I often work on several pieces at once. Days or weeks may pass before I am satisfied that the piece is completed. At that stage, I apply three topcoat layers of varnish".
