Given the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, the Pelham Art Festival Committee is closely monitoring how the annual Pelham Art Festival will be impacted. At this time we are still hoping the annual event will be able to take place on Mother’s Day weekend May 8, 9 and 10, 2020, and have made plans to make sure we follow sanitization and safety protocols. We are concurrently closely monitoring the situation, gathering information, and will be following the direction of the Niagara Region Public Health.
We are aware of many cancellations in effect all over the province until early to mid April, and our event takes place May 8-10, 2020. My contact with Public Health resulted in information that we do not need to cancel the Festival yet, but we will reassess by early April, 2020. In the event that the Pelham Art Festival does need to be cancelled, artists and volunteers will be informed immediately. We will remain in touch with Public Health of the Niagara Region and with the Town of Pelham, and will keep you updated if there is a significant change.
WHAT EVERYONE OUGHT TO BE DOING
The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus. Prevention measures include:

- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth at all times
- Avoid close contact with people who are ill
- Stay home when you are ill
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands
- If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
