Beauty in Niagara - Of Time, Nests And Things That Grew

Francie McGlynn

In my art, I have been exploring what it means to be over seventy in a society that doesn't often value the voices of its elders nor admire the beauty of their faces. With that in mind, I constructed this assemblage of found-in-Niagara objects all of which are long past the time when they had a biological job to do in the Niagara ecosystem. And yet if we observe them and wonder at the intricacies in their construction we start to see and respect the beauty and wisdom in all stages of life.
