Following a 30-year career as a Horticulturalist and Arborist, James Pook took up wood turning as a way to continue his lifelong passion for native tree preservation. Locally sourced dead or fallen trees are brought back to life as incredibly stylish, one-of-a-kind items. James’ process allows each piece of wood to share its unique life story. Defects and irregularities in the wood are enhanced to create stunning results. James’ goal is to preserve as much interest as nature once placed within the wood. Each wood turned item is hand sanded and sealed with a food-grade, highly durable gloss finish.
