A Niagara-based artist with rural roots, Shields developed her passion for photography during a career as a Visual Arts educator. Shields exhibits annually at the Pelham Art Festival and in members’ shows at the Niagara Pumphouse Gallery, Art Gallery of Burlington and the Women’s Art Association, Toronto. A founding member of f8 Photography Collective, Shields exhibited with the Toronto group between 2010 and 2020. When home in Ontario, Shields turns her lens mostly to subjects from Nature and especially enjoys photographing tree portraits. This image collection was inspired by frequented trails, byways and country scenes of the Niagara area close to her home.
