10 Manitoba Maple Natural Edge Burl Bowl

This native Canadian tree was sourced from the Niagara region. The red staining occurs naturally and is caused by the tree’s natural defences when wounded. The burl is an outgrowth on the tree where the grain has grown in a distorted manner, typically due to stress. Enhancing the unique and highly figured wood grain and natural edge was the goal for this wood turned piece. Each wood turned item is hand sanded and sealed with a food-grade, highly durable gloss finish.
