LINDA ELLSWORTH
Drawing and painting from an early age, Linda has had a multi-faceted career in fine art, including teaching multiple art mediums with a step-by-step approach to assist existing and budding artists to create their own personal artistic vision. Her courses and workshops spanned a decade and included all ages; drawing, oil, watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink, mixed media, and art therapy.

“I began fine art studies with divergent courses and workshops at the Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology Welland with the Niagara South Board of Education; fine art drawing and painting, life drawing, design, and instruction for art therapy, I also pursed workshops at the Southampton Art School, Ryerson University Toronto, Rodman Hall Arts Centre St. Catharines, and studied with prominent North American artists.

Drawing and painting in multiple mediums has informed my style. During the past few years, I've been creating artwork with various archival papers and paints. My recycled material collage artworks created with handmade Nepalese Lokta paper and archival art papers incorporates mixed media techniques, and has transformed my personal artistic vision.

Peering into living forms, my medium is chosen by sensing the energy of exciting colours and patterns that capture inner light resulting in visual images that move freely between realism, with intuitive images mingling with floral motifs, and abstracts evolving from rhythmic forms, transformative, emoting rich colours. Subjects and media encompass florals, landscapes, and seascapes from the abundance our environment provides; flora and fauna, life sustaining forests and waters; oceans, coral reefs, coral atolls, lakes, rivers, ponds and wetlands; the engines for Earth’s cycle of life.

It has been said that, if we respect all life, and make our planet safe for all creatures…then our planet will be safe for us".
