"My journey to prepare for a show or any painting, begins with inspiration. I find when my cI have been creating inspirational works in acrylic and oil on canvas for 25 years, which are more than just decorative, they carry messages of hope and healing.
My paintings begin with a base of non-objective colour and texture, and often end up as a creative blend of abstract and realism, with contrasts like peaceful subjects against stormy skies, reminding us that there is love and order even in a seemingly chaotic world, if we take the time to look and choose a positive outlook on life. My subject matter is a combination of landscape and figurative work, often highly symbolic and religious in nature, bringing ancient teachings to a modern viewer in a relevant way that stirs up conversations about meaning in art.
Many of my paintings are created before live audiences at various community and charity events, to the delight of viewers of all ages and walks of life.
I am also increasingly well known throughout the Niagara region not just for works on canvas but also for public mural projects I’ve done with the cities of Welland and St. Catharines, and for business such as Tim Hortons and Safari Niagara".
