I'm M.Tracey, an artist and lifestyle explorer. I am a wildlife defender and a science enthusiast. Much of my art comes from my love of nature. I attempt to express in my art the subtleties and wonder of light on subjects that inspire me. It is my sincere wish that something I create will delight or move others. Art changes the world, for the artist and the viewer, and I am grateful to be a part of that.
M.Tracey Studied Fine Arts at Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina College/University) and later, graphic design at Niagara College. Drawing on a deep respect for and knowledge of classical art, emerging Canadian artist M.Tracey Williams expresses her fascination with how light dances with, and informs the viewer of the essence of her subjects.
Eschewing more traditional approaches to watercolour, she pushes the limits of the often temperamental and difficult medium far more known for impressionistic work, to create a sense of movement, depth and realism. Her love for wildlife and the natural world, with it’s myriad examples of often overlooked beauty in a rushed and distracted modern life, are M.Tracey’s main inspiration. Her work shows a disciplined, subtle observation of the world, and her delicate execution conveys a serenity inherent in slowing down and appreciating nature in all its wonder.
