Born in 1942 Tim Sullivan has been drawing and painting since 1960. After a career in business he retired in 2005 and has been painting full time ever since. He is a member of Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, a local artist community, and has taken courses and workshops there. He has been showing his work in local art shows and at restaurants and Bed and Breakfast establishments.
I am currently painting mainly landscapes but have also done some portraits and still life works.
"I have always felt that I should paint in a realistic style and once I had succeeded with that I would go on to more abstract work. I am finding though that I am still learning with each piece and haven’t yet transitioned away from that. I use acrylic paints generally as is but have used some washes where transparency is warranted. I use mainly brushes but also have used pallet knives and other tools as well.
I live just outside the town of Niagara-in-the-Lake near the south shore of Lake Ontario and I find no end to the inspirations in the local scenery including the lake, local rivers and streams, farms, orchards, and wineries".
