PELHAM ART FESTIVAL at the Meridian Community Centre (MCC) in Fonthill
FESTIVAL SET UP/TAKE DOWN CREW
Time Commitment: About 3-5 hours
- Thursday May 9, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Monday May 13, 9:00 am. - 12:00 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- transfer display boards from storage room behind bleachers in MCC to floor of arena using a roller cart or by carrying the boards
- transfer display accessories, and decorating supplies from storage room to arena floor
- assemble display walls with direction of Crew Leaders or assistants
- set up tables and chairs
Skills/Qualifications:
- Physically able to do manual labour - MUST BE physically able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted
- Positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work well independently or in a group
- Problem solving skills

DECORATING CREW
Time Commitment: About 3 hours
- Thursday May 9: 9:00 or 10:00 am - 2 pm
- Friday May 10 9:00 am to 2 pm
- Monday May 13 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pick up plants from local growers with vehicle
- Follow Theme of the Year plan
- Decorate the Entry and Arena to make it welcoming for artists and the public:
- Arrange plants for display around stage, in central dining area, and in entry to arena; arrange tables, chairs, accessories, decor where appropriate according to overall plan
- Prepare centre pieces
- Prepare Sponsor Sign display
- Set up signage wherever needed in arena and entry to provide welcoming atmosphere
Skills/Qualifications
- Physically able to do manual labour
- Positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work well independently or in a group
- Problem solving skills
- Creativity

Role 1: Floater/Booth Sitter
Responsibilities:
- Relieving artist for breaks
- Running errands
- Making sure the eating area is tidy and clear of waste
- Notifying arena staff when garbage/recycle bins need to be emptied
- Pick up artist information papers (for Sunday afternoon shift only)
- After Festival end, a few remain to collect artist badges in booth, take down booth numbers, take down and discard artist booth name signs
Time Commitment:
- Friday, May 9th: 7:00pm-10:00pm
- Saturday May 10th: 10:00am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-5:00pm
- Sunday, May 11th:10:00am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-4:30pm (a few remain till 5:30 pm)
Skills/Qualifications:
- Interested in interacting with artists and community members
- Friendly and able to provide polite

Role 2: WRAPPING STATION ATTENDANT
Responsibilities:
- Wrapping and securing patron purchases
- Organizing materials and station for wrapping
- Collecting invoices including managing purchase receipts for Treasurer and Artists.
Time Commitment:
- Friday, May 9th: 7:00pm-10:00pm
- Saturday May 10th: 10:00am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-5:00pm
- Sunday, May 11th:10:00am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-4:30pm
Skills/Qualifications:
- Interested in interacting with artists and community members
- Friendly and courteous with good customer service skills

Role 3: TICKET SALES / WELCOME TABLE
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patrons
- Sell Festival tickets
- Provide Festival information brochure and general inquiry
- Report any problems to the Festival Chair or Committee Member
- Help keep the table area clean and organized
Time Commitment:
- Friday, May 9th: 7:00pm-10:00pm
- Saturday May 10th: 10:00am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-5:00pm
- Sunday, May 11th:10:00am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-4:30pm
Skills/Qualifications:
- Interested in interacting with artists and community members
- Good math skills
- Friendly and courteous with good customer service skills

Role 4: FRIDAY EVENING FOOD SERVER
Responsibilities:
- Serve food to guests
- Respond to questions about food served
- Engages with guests
Time Commitment:
- Friday, May 9th: 7:00pm-10:00pm

- Interested in interacting with artists and community members
- Friendly and courteous with good customer service skills
- Being on your feet for extended period and handling trays or dishes
