Best of Portrait: The Award Winner at Pelham Art Festival Online Curated Collections is Artist George Doros

Artist George Doros' work in oils ranges from realist to abstract spontaneous realism. The majority of his current paintings are done on 4' by 4 ' gesso masonite hardboard panels.

"Painting portraits give me the satisfaction of knowing that I have tried to capture not only a likeness of the model but also the knowledge that I have somehow recorded a characteristic and quality of that person that upon closer inspection one can be more acquainted with who they are.  Recording an exterior likeness of a model is easy but capturing the essence of the person is more complex and challenging".
